    Project Description

The consortium of Kyushu University, Japan, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, and Pusan National University, Korea, started the CAMPUS Asia EEST program titled “Cooperational Graduate Education Program for the Development of Global Human Resources in Energy and Environmental Science and Technology (EEST)” in 2011. One of the main features of the program is a double degree program for the master course. During the last seven years, the CAMPUS Asia EEST produced 171 double degree students.

Based on the success of the CAMPUS Asia EEST, we propose a CAMPUS Asia Plus project with the new participation of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia from ASEAN. The main objectives of the proposed CAMPUS Asia Plus project are to broaden students’ horizons to the world through Asia-Pacific and to increase the opportunities for international research experiences for doctoral course students. In Mode 3, we expect that about 30 new double degree students and more than 250 non-degree EEST students will participate in the program each year.

The program trains global human resources in Energy and Environmental Science and Technology, especially, prospective researchers and engineers who have the following skills.

i.Research and development skills based on deep knowledge of their expertise.

ii.Understanding of current energy and environmental issues and thinking ability to solve problems.

iii.English proficiency required for global activities.

iv.International sense with understanding people, cultures, and society of home and foreign countries.

The human resources who completed the CAMPUS Asia Plus EEST program will lead the field of energy and environment in terms of advanced research, technology development, professional education, etc.
