On August 25, the pre-trip education session for the first batch of students from the Ocean University of China (OUC) for “CAMPUS Asia” was held in Shengli Building’s Zhongtai Center Office on the Yushan Campus. LIU Tai, Head of Information Service/General Affairs of the International Office of OUC, LIANG Taiming and XUAN Ying, heads of Exchange Affairs, LIU Yang, Assistant Dean of the College of Fisheries, and ZHANG Xinyu, Secretary of the Research Center for Shandong-ASEAN Exchanges and Cooperation attended the event.

Drawing from his own experience, LIU Tai suggested that the students solidify their goals for studying abroad and remain true to their original aspirations while bearing in mind their love for the homeland and the mission of sharing China’s stories. He encouraged the students to not only broaden their horizons but also protect themselves from the pandemic by making careful judgments, taking proper precautions, and avoiding risky actions while overseas. LIANG Taiming, on the other hand, provided them with the latest and most practical information on commonly seen issues concerning pandemic prevention, entry-exit administration, dormitory, and daily life, to help them better adjust to life overseas. Finally, LIU Yang offered students warm messages, hoping that they could cherish the opportunity, proactively cultivate their global vision, and diligently improve their intercultural communication ability and all-around competence, so as to prepare themselves as rising high-calibre talents with international competitiveness.

On the morning of August 31, the departing ceremony was held on the Yushan Campus. LI Qi, Dean of the College of Fisheries, WANG Linshu, Deputy Director of the International Office, and LIU Yang, Assistant Dean of the College of Fisheries, along with relevant faculty and students of this overseas exchange program, attended the ceremony and commemorated with a photo.

LI Qi congratulated the first batch of “CAMPUS Asia” students leaving for exchange overseas and hoped they could cherish the opportunity, protect themselves from the pandemic, enjoy the program to the fullest, and return with accomplishments. WANG Linshu encouraged them to study diligently, broaden their horizons, strive for academic achievements, and bring back many valuable lessons. Students expressed that they would make full use of this valuable opportunity, and engage in exchange activities enthusiastically, to fully demonstrate the excellence of the OUC student body.
