Recently, the 2022 “CAMPUS Asia” Online International Seminar, Alumni Association, and Project Manager Meeting were held via Zoom. Professors, graduate students, and management staff from eight universities in China, Japan, the Republic of Korea (ROK), and Thailand attended the meetings.

At this seminar, Professor KAN Xiangling, Head of the Office of Academic Affairs, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TUTCM), shared her report titled Introduction to Undergraduate Education of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and briefed on the history, current situation, undergraduate teaching, and achievements of TUTCM. Dr. LIU Mengyang, the associate research fellow of the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, TUTCM, gave an academic report titled Mango Leaves-Derived Active Compounds and Glucose/Lipid Metabolism Regulation. LI Hainan, Vice Dean of the School of International Education, and ZHANG Yanna, Project Director, had a discussion and exchange with professors and project managers from China, Japan, ROK, and Thailand on the latest progress of the project and the future annual plan at the meeting. All parties agreed to leverage the “CAMPUS Asia” program to enhance mutual understanding and trust among outstanding young talents from China, Japan, ROK, and ASEAN countries, improve academic exchanges, and promote in-depth educational cooperation among Asian universities.

Since 2016, our university, together with Peking University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Osaka University of Japan, and Yonsei University of ROK, have applied for and gotten the approval of the “Program for Raising Research Leaders in Medical and Public Health to Solve Global Health Problems” under the “CAMPUS Asia” program, which includes such activities as exchanges among faculty members and students, credit exchange, double-degree program, etc. In November 2021, the universities of China, Japan, and ROK and Mahidol University of Thailand jointly applied for the “Program for Raising Research Leaders in Medical and Public Health” and were again selected into the “CAMPUS Asia” program by the Ministry of Education. All parties will take this as an opportunity to train global leaders in medicine and public health and solve global health problems caused by infectious diseases such as COVID-19, dementia, and other age-related non-communicable diseases.
