Project Description
Asia Fisheries and Marine Environment Leaders Program (AFIMA Leaders Program) aims to nurture future professionals for the management of fishery resources and marine environment. The program offers short- and medium term student exchange and double degree opportunities, jointly organized by Pukyong National University, Ocean University of China, Nagasaki University, and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu.
With the support of the governments, more than 380 students will participate in the program, promoting inter-university cooperation and exchanges between students and faculty members.
The program will be implemented by the College of Fisheries, Ocean University of China (OUC). OUC will work closely with its Japanese, Korean, and ASEAN partners, to address the challenges posed by COVID-19, carry out online exchanges and teaching, and make arrangements for credit transfer and degree conferral.
In September 2022, the first group of exchange students already arrived in Japan and South Korea.
